چکیده

This study reports the fabrication and performance of sustainable polyurethane (PU) films based on wheat starch (native NS, modified MS), bio-polyols (1,3-propanediol PD, glycerol Gly), polymeric diphenylmethane diisocyanate (pMDI). NS was successfully with isophorone diisocyanate, confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (13C NMR). Various PU were prepared using PD or Gly, MS pMDI. For comparison, reference also synthesized without MS. analyzed from viewpoint their chemical, thermomechanical flexural properties, microstructural morphology. FTIR spectra demonstrated total consumption NCO groups, while scanning electron microscopy micrographs revealed that addition promoted interactions between compounds, enhancing in consequence mechanical performance. The supported suitability functionalized carbohydrates to substitute petrochemical compounds synthesis more environmentally-friendly PUs.

Properties of Biodegradable Multilayer Films Based on Plasticized Wheat Starch

Over the last decades, there has been growing needs to find alternatives to petroleum-based products because of environmental concerns. Starch is an inherently biodegradable, renewable and low-cost material, and has high potential in food or non-food applications [1]. In that respect, the applications of starch have given rise to a great number of studies [2–5]. Native starch, when plasticized ...

Synthesis and Characterization of Anionic Polyurethane Dispersants for Waterborne Paints

Anionic polyurethane dispersants APUDs were used as dispersing agents in formulation of waterborne paints. The APUDs were synthesized by three steps. In the first step, macromonomer diisocyanate having carboxylic acid was prepared by isophorone diisocyanate IPDI, dimethylol propionic acid DMPA in presence of acetone as solvent and dibutyltin dilaurate DBTDL as catalyst. Then, carboxylic polyure...

Composites prepared from the waterborne polyurethane cationomers-modified graphene. Part II. Electrical properties of the polyurethane films

The research was planned to test electrical properties of polymer films made from polyurethane cationomers with 0-2 wt.% graphene admixture. The cationomers were synthetized in the reaction of 4,4'-methylenebis(phenyl isocyanate), polycaprolactone diol (M = 2000), N-methyldiethanolamine, and formic acid. It was found that addition of approx. 2 wt.% of graphene causes the loss of volume resistiv...

Research on the Thermal Decomposition Reaction Kinetics and Mechanism of Pyridinol-Blocked Isophorone Diisocyanate

A series of pyridinol-blocked isophorone isocyanates, based on pyridinol including 2-hydroxypyridine, 3-hydroxypyridine, and 4-hydroxypyridine, was synthesized and characterized by ¹H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and FTIR spectra. The deblocking temperature of blocked isocyanates was established by thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and the CO₂ evaluation method. The d...

Thermal Conductivity and Interconnectivity of Hexamethylene Diisocyanate Contained Polyurethane Grafted Multiwall Carbon Nanotube/Polyurethane Nanocomposite Film

The hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) contained polyurethane (PU) grafted multi-walled carbon nanotubes (HDI-g-MWNTs) have been synthesized by simple blending method to fabricate thermal conductive nanocomposite. This method shows that HDI-g-MWNTs can improve the interfacial compatibility between HDI-g-MWNTs and matrix. The HDI base PU thermal conductive film (HDI-PU) showed enhanced dispersibil...
